Clustering
Failover Clustering and Load Balancing
Cerberus doesn't natively support load balancing but using Active Directory authentication and a hardware or software load balancer (such as Microsoft NLB) you can achieve simple load balancing and failover with Active Directory or LDAP authenticated accounts.
Each Cerberus FTP Server instance would point at the same Active Directory or LDAP database and requests can be load balanced to any of the available servers in that fashion. Many of our customers use such an arrangement for achieving simple failover and load balancing support.
Exceptions
The exception is with the new HTTP web client access capability. The session database is local to each Cerberus instance and any load balancer will have to ensure that all of the connections coming from a single user are routed to the same Cerberus instance. We are working on a solution that will bring full clustering support to Cerberus FTP Server in the near future.
