If PASV doesn't work with your firewall on, then the pasv port range isn't properly opened/forwarded. Hehe thats the problem I'm having on my end. My router doesn't port forward (at all!) correctly and the DMZ doesn't work either. But these are my problems. Like I said if I turn the router's firewa...

You should physically go into the server and tick "install as a service", and then exit Cerberus and start the "cerberus ftp server" service, and that is it. It will stay on even when logged off, but you can't see the icon in the system tray on MSTSC's. Ahh exactly what I was looking for. Problem s...

You *should* use your external ip, unless you are seeing exactly the problem described in the FAQ, so it is not in conflict with the FAQ. - but you should definitely test that you can indeed get in using passive connections, before relying on it. (Do you exit Cerberus "nicely" before rebooting/rest...

Ah, but you wrote "FTP Client", Cerberus is a FTP Server . If you install the server as a service (there is a tickmark in the server manager), it will stay on all the time, however, there is issue accessing the GUI through terminal services: http://www.cerberusftp.com/faq/troubleshooting.html#Q4 Al...

It depends on the program itself. Cerberus has the ability of being installed as a service, your ftp client may not. Why would you want a ftp client on all the time? You probably don't use it, unless you are on? I would like the FTP to be on all the time so I can access it from anywhere with an int...

I restart and the box reverts back to my external IP address. I've done it multiple times. I wouldn't mind it changing if thats the correct address, but it conflicts with the FAQ thats all. I mean the FTP works fine right now (sans my firewall problems), just want to make sure all the PASV settings ...

Using a different IP for PASV command does not keep IP addy
Using the nicely written FAQ, I determined I needed to change some PASV options to get the FTP to work from the outside. I went to Server Manager>Interfaces>Hit the interface created (192.168.1.101) then I hit the tick box for "Use different IP for PASV command (Usually a router address)". A text bo...

This is a good place to start. I have this great FTP client running on my home server. I want to keep it running all the time, so I installed it yet when I logged off through my MSTSC connection the FTP turned off! It seems the FTP client only stays on when I'm logged into my server through MSTSC. A...
