Re: V3.0.3 eats all RAM Win7

After having upgraded to build 2 (3.1.0.2), it works fine. (And I do indeed see the extra stuff in the interfaces.xml.) Working set peaks at 20MB, and it starts practically immediately.

Re: V3.0.3 eats all RAM Win7

That would be "<serializerVersion>2</serializerVersion>" (take away the stray 'g'). It seems it is much faster now, but the peek working set is still at 600MB.

Re: Losing network mappings after Windows restart

Just a wild suggestion: You could program your own little service app, which is looking at the same network mappings, and doesn't report "started" to the SCM until the network mappings are available. Then Cerberus should be set to depend on this service, meaning it will not be started up until the l...

Re: V3.0.3 eats all RAM Win7

Bingo! Now it works fine here. I haven't posted the logs, as they are obviously quite uninteresting, let me know, if you need them. - there is a small handle leak on the dialogs, but I guess you are on top of that.

Re: V3.0.3 eats all RAM Win7

There you go. It took a while this time to get it up and running, perhaps because I was being stubborn and tried (tried!) to work with other apps at the same. Re: V3.0.3 eats all RAM Win7

That is odd!! Did you clean up before installing again, or did you just install over the old one?

Please note, Serin, that this is not an issue for me, if you want to downprioritize it a moment. I will do some more tests though. If you want something special done, let me know.

Re: Handle leak

Yes, it seems much better now, the handle count is stable. - except... Enter the User Manager dialog and exit it again, 6 handles lost (I have 6 users configured, coincidence?). Enter the IP Manager dialog and exit it again, 2 handles lost.

So, there is still slightly wet on the floor. :-)

Re: V3.0.3 eats all RAM Win7

Sorry, but no change, it still peeks at close to 800MB, and ends at close to 400MB, taking half a minute to launch. The about box still says 3.0.8, but the build date is October 26, so I guess it is the right one I am running (just installed over the old one). Funny thing is, that there is no CPU pe...

Re: Handle leak

Note, there is another thread http://www.cerberusftp.com/phpBB3/viewt ... f=4&t=2419 on a memory peek on startup on Vista/W7, I think that is what you are experiencing. This handle leak takes effect slowly over time.

Handle leak

Installed 3.0.8 on my XP (well, 2003 actually) the other day, running as service, and today, it was at 22K handles! I have restarted it, and now I can see in process explorer, how the handle count slowly but steadily climbs without even touching server. Procexp reveals lots of unnamed "Event" and "S...

Re: Profile Save error unable to open users file access denied

Where did you get a v2.50? It is currently at v3.0.8, so I would recommend using that one, as 2.50 is hardly compatible with Vista. - I don't even *remember* a v2.50, but if you say you have it, I guess it existed once... :-)

Re: Can not connect

If you don't want Cerberus to shut down on log out, install it as a service - there is tickmark in server administration. For the connection, I don't quite understand your setup. The two connections shown are what? Internal and external connect? Both are from 192.168.1.1. The ip shown in the passive...

Re: V3.0.3 eats all RAM Win7

But <interface name="10.45.6.30"> IS a begin-marker. It just has an attribute, name, defined as well, that is perfectly legal in XML, and this begin-marker DOES match the end-marker </interface>.

No, they are there: <interface name="10.45.6.30"> for instance.
