APPE bug.

I *think* I have found another bug, this is gonna be long, I am afraid... The setup: I have a 512kbps DSL link and a netgear router with the habbit of closing idle connections after 10 mintes. I try to upload a huge file (0.5-1GB) to my ftp, using FileZilla. Here is the first extract from the log, c...

Re: Small glitches in the GUI

In the latest version 3.0, part of the "last" issue I described is still there: Click "New", enter a name for the new user (don't press enter or OK or anything!), click on Simple Directories and then close the dialog. When you reenter the dialog, there is a "NewUser1" with simple directories set, an...

Re: Downloads to appear as promopts??

Have you prefixed your URLs with "ftp://"? If that doesn't help, I don't think there is anything you can do centrally, this is a per-browser setting.

Re: Can't use a different port other than 21

Just a silly question; are you editing the xml while the program is running? Stop the program completely, edit the xml, start the program. Probably not the problem, but anyway...

Re: Need Help Setting up our FTP server..Thanks

Any trace in the log at all from external users trying to log in? Triple check the port forwarding! It is usually where things go wrong. Do you port forwarding for other things that work?

Re: Upload shutting down after aprox 8 mb

Are you sure it is not 8KB? It looks like it is your client's fault. Have you tried another client?

Re: Anonymous

1) Anonymous simply means that no password is required - anything will do, and will (depending on the web server) be visible in the log. Traditionally, there is only one anonymous user, and that is "anonymous", and as password you would specify your e-mail, as your "signature", so that the server ma...

Re: Firefox and Internet Explorer

Firefox has a known issue... About the other problems, you need to post a log from Cerberus showing the problem.

Re: Connection reset by peer

Hmm... You are right, that is odd... I have never seen that before. But there is another little thing: In the Cerberus Logs, it appears that the transfer takes 1:30-1:40, while the client reports failure after just 51 seconds. Is that a clue to the solution? You could also try to put a wireshark on ...

Re: Can't continue past PASV...

Your server ip and client ip appears to be the same. Are they? Try fiddling the "ip for passive" setting, sometimes routers are "intelligent" and messes this up... Please post the answer, if you figure it out, it may be one for the FAQ. (There is an entry on intelligent routers already, but this app...

Re: FTP server behind a router and FTP client behind

Only the range 11000-12000. Port 20 is traditionally used as *source*-port for active ftp.

- if that is indeed the problem.

Re: FTP server behind a router and FTP client behind

Take a look in the FAQ, there is an entry about "intelligent" routers. The bottom line is to try to configure the server with it's internal ip as external ip instead of DDNS.
