Can you post the Cerberus FTP Server log file with full logging turned on? Only use version 2.22.

    Hello,

Is the client on the same network, or on the internet somewhere. Does the client have port forwarding enabled for the IP address and ports he is specifying in the PORT command?

    ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

ive just installed and get the same prob, using same os as host, can ftp in list files, upload delete rename etc just cannot download, have tried cuteftp, windows 2000 ftp dos client, internet explorer ftp but cannot down load.

my server is behind a smoothwall firewall port 21 is forwarded are there any other ports needed?

    ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

net stat shows that only one connection is in place even when download is attempted so i dont think its a firewall issue.

    TCP GB-K4YUB:2006 cpc3-bsfd3-3-0-cust233.cmbg.cable.ntl.com:ftp E

    STABLISHED

    help please

I have moved the ftp server inside the firewall and still get the same problem, can do all function apart from download, tried installing Cerberusftp on an xp pro pc also inside the firewall and all test ok.

It would seem that windows 98se compatability may be the issue, im going to ensure that i have all the latest windows updates and try again, I will post the results on completion.

well I’ve done all I know and I cannot get it to allow downloads running on windows 98se, I think that I’m going to have to give in to defeat and find another ftp server that is as good as this one, shame, this is a cool server.

    Try this:

    Go to Configuration menu,

    Server Manager,

    Advanced,

    UNcheck “Use Optimized File Sending”

Worked for me when trying to get an XP user to connect to my Win98SE server..

I had the same problem and unchecking the “Use Optimized File Sending” fixed it.

    Txs
