What can I do for IE6 users can use FTP site?
IstvanApril 21, 2005 at 12:20 pm #32737
I had no problem to access your site with the ftp client Filezilla or IE 6.
It was possible to list and download.
In my IE settings I have ftp folderview activated.
PS I never used any password. Not needed when using the name anonymous. If you want the site to be private don’t use the name anonymous. Check the user rights and permissions. DSApril 22, 2005 at 6:56 pm #32738
Tried from a friends computer with XP pro and it didn’t work. He had in IE (tools options advanced) ticket both activate mapview at ftpsites and use passive ftp. But when changeing to only ftp mapview it works.
You havent told us what O/S you use but I think its firewall/router related. Passive ports are not opened and forwarded to your cerberuscomputer.May 22, 2005 at 9:48 am #32739lungParticipantmember wrote:

Hi lung, if you are the same guy who posted as member, it do not work for me either now. Have been like that for some time. Have you changed any settings concerning connection IP?
You had your permissions set so anyone could change or delete the material inside the ftp. Thats why I wrote that you should check permissions.
If you want some help further on it’s easier when server is set to full logging and an extract of the log is posted here.
I you are using windows XP and upgraded to servicepack 2,the inbuilt firewall is on by default and needs to be set for ftpserver before anyone can access.
Can’t give more hints then this before given more info.August 16, 2005 at 2:45 pm #32741wurdzParticipant

May just help you simplify things for you and/or your clients using a browser to log in to an FTP site.
Hope helps you!!!
