OK Sorry if this is redundant but I am effing pulling my hair out!!!!!! Had a DLINK router with cerberus ftp installed on server machine and everything worked great no problems till the DLINK crapped out and was forced to buy a Netgear N router and that is when the problems started. Now I have read every single post about routers ports looping and all that crazy stuff and I know about all of that I do it everyday but of course can’t do it at my own house. That said Here WE GO………….

FTP PORT 21 forwarded to my server internal ip which is static NAT

PASV PORTS 11000 to 13000 forwarded to above mentioned IP as well

now lets just pause for a minute, this is all i did for my DLINK and I was golden worked great………..

now with my netgear i cannot connect to my server fully

if I try to connect with IE it lets me enter username password info and then goes to cannot display page

if i try to connect in windows explorer same as above but it says i do not have access to that file/folder connection timed out

but here is the funny thing dos ftp works cuz dos was and is awesome

my dynamic WAN ip is being updated to dyndns.org by direct update which i have a domain from ftp://blah.blah.cc

NOW REMEMBER THIS ALL WORKED ON MY DLINK AND I KNOW WHAT U ALL WILL SAY IT IS ROUTER CONFIG, BUT THESE SETTINGS ARE MIRRORED EXACTLY FROM DLINK TO NETGEAR

THE FOLLOWING IS MY LOG FROM CERBERUS: If anyone can help please I would really appreciate it I need this server for many uses during the day and I am sick of my thumb drive already

This is trying to connect internally by the way but the same problem happens externally as well

What seems odd is that your passive IP address is the same as the address of the incoming connection. I also see a note early in the log about WAN IP auto-detection failing. Normally, WAN IP auto-detection functions to figure out your public IP and uses that for passive commands. If that isn’t working then Cerberus might not be giving out the correct address for passive connections.

You need to give your public IP address to clients in response to passive commands. Figure out your public IP and manually enter it as your passive IP for each interface.
