User List Wiped Out Multiple Times

Post by bsiegel » Wed Jul 25, 2007 8:01 am

Hey there. Two different times so far our list of Users and Passwords has been completely wiped out. This is a great server and aside from this it has been flawless for us. Its just that when this happens our Data Person has to spend quite a bit of time re-entering all our Clients Usernames and Passwords and re-creating all the permissions and paths to their root directories. I don't really know why this is happening but here is the log from when it did happen. Also is there a way to back up all the settings on this program so that if it does happen again I can just restore from a backup and not have to re-enter all the information? Thanks a million.

The only reason I can think of that the profiles would get corrupted is if the server was forcibly terminated or crashed while writing out the file.

What is the time frame for these two occurrences? Months? Years?

There is a backup and restore capability for profiles in the latest version (2.45). From the Tool menu, select the Backup Users option. There is also a Restore Users option.

The two times that it happened was about a three months apart.

Maybe we will just install the newest version and back everything up in case it happens again.
