Interface ::1 Detected

Post by Tornado » Wed Oct 10, 2007 3:02 am

Cerberus FTP Server 2.45 (latest).
I'm assuming ::1 is an interface detection bug.

Not necessarily. It is an ipv6 address; "localhost". (What used to be 127.0.0.1 in ipv4). Could probably still be regarded as a bug, since Cerberus never before recognized localhost as an interface. My guess is, that Cerberus looks for 127.0.0.1 but not ::1...

Ahhh yes, now I remember reading about that a while back. Thanks.

Interestingly, I've ran Cerberus on this home computer (same system and network settings) for the past 10 months and had previously seen 5 interfaces in Cerberus. Now I'm only seeing two addresses.

Also the IPv6 address (128 bits) isn't going to fit in the interface box within Cerberus.

Also curious on a timeframe for the next version / release. It's been 6 months since 2.45.

Hello,

2.5 BETA is almost ready. I have some interface issues to work out with group support, but it's coming along very well. I will try to get something out very soon. I may release an interim 2.46 release to address a few bugs that have been discovered since 2.45.
