Russian filename support

Post by DenisV » Mon Sep 14, 2009 1:09 am

Hello. There's a trouble with Russian filenames in version 3.0.4 (and it was in 3.0.3).
Filenames are shown with strange letters in FAR and Total Commander and IE8.
Nothing helps even if i manualy trigger IE to use UTF-8.

Only latest version of Opera browser shows russian letters as expected. But it's not enough...

Seems like correct support of UTF-8 isn't normal for browsers :|
Maybe it's possible to enable cp1251?
I like this ftp server and wish to install it in my company after some testing.
But i could not tell our clients to update or change their software for UTF-8 support.

Well... another FTP server with UTF-8 works fine.
Too bad no support here.
Good luck.

We will be adding support for non-standard native character sets in a later version. FTP clients that support ANSI or UTF-8 will work fine with Cerberus FTP Server, but some clients like Total Commander that are not standards compliant will have trouble properly displaying characters.

Good luck to you.
