Authentication Error Message displays XML Code instead of proper display message.

Post by GrantConsultingGroup » Thu Feb 09, 2017 2:49 pm

When the Cerberus FTP server has SOAP disabled, and someone attempts to access the Web Admin page. When they hit cancel on the authentication request they are shown XML coding instead of an error message. This XML code includes url and other information that appears to be generic to the cerberus FTP application or developer site and not the actual URL used for the specific implementation. The issue is reproducible when accessing the web admin page locally or remotely.

There is no option to disable SOAP access - only connections over SOAP from remote endpoints. Local SOAP access is always permitted.

Web administration and SOAP access share the same underlying HTTP/S engine and port.

The XML error message is currently the expected behavior when a user repeatedly fails authentication with the server, or cancels their basic authentication request. This will eventually be changed as we move away from basic authentication in the near future.
