This is what my log file is saying. I dont know why it says user anonymous, it displays this before i even enter my username and password. Thanks

This is clearly the client's fault. What client do you use? It is probably configured to automatically log in using some user name and password.

Thanks for the fast reply. I've tried IE7 and WS_FTP client.

IE7 at least will just use anonoymous, unless you type ftp://username@ftp.server.com in the address bar (I hope I remember the syntax correctly). Don't know about WS_FTP, it can probably be configured to use a specific user name?

Drop IE, it doesn't do FTP correctly.
I use Firefox with FireFTP with Cerberus and have the best results.
