Post by ptillar » Thu Mar 25, 2004 5:28 pm

I have a netgear wgr614/v2 router and I trying to setup ftp on my 2000 server I setup port forwarding on my router to port 21. but when I try to get my friend to log onto my computer using ftp I get a error that says that connection request rejected from block address of my friends Tcp/Ip address. I am using comcast DSL

Please help

Does the forwarded port 21 point to the corresponding LAN IP address?

ex. 192.168.0.99

If you friend is getting this message, I would assume anyone who attempts to connect from a remote address would have the same results.

Do you have another computer on your internal network that you can use to connect to the LAN address?

If so, try to login to the FTP server via the IP address on your LAN (ex. 192.168.0.99).

I chech the box that says allows addresses listed to login on to this server
all addresses not listed will be denied login
I also put his Ip address in manually.

bonjour,
you may run several tries by your own, as if you were
"fron the wan"
http://www.net2ftp.com/
or
http://web2ftp.com/

clear your IP manager list
and check only "Deny addresses listed"
then, if success, put net2ftp or web2ftp ip adr, in the list
and check "with allow address listed"
