use passive ftp (for firewall and DSL modem compatiblilty)

Post by one3cap » Wed Aug 02, 2006 10:37 pm

i can log into the FTP server just fine my only problem is that i have to UNCHECK the option

use passive ftp (for firewall and DSL modem compatiblilty)
with internet explorer properties for my folders to show up after i connected to the FTP site.

If use passive ftp (for firewall and DSL modem compatiblilty) is CHECKED then i can login but cannot access the folders and i get a timeout message.

when it is checked there is 2 extra lines in my log

TYPE A
PASV
not sure what to do other then dont use cerberus because by default it seems that use passive ftp (for firewall and DSL modem compatiblilty) is checked and i can't instruct everyone to uncheck it

HELP PLEASE!

Most likely the "usual" firewall/router problem. Check out the firewall section, or take a look here: http://www.mdjnet.dk/ftp.html, http://www.mdjnet.dk/router.html.
