ZIP file

A ZIP file is a compressed archive that stores one or more files in a reduced size using lossless compression. In file transfer protocol (FTP) and managed file transfer (MFT) environments, ZIP files are commonly used to bundle multiple files into a single package for easier and faster transmission. This reduces bandwidth usage and simplifies file handling during uploads or downloads. ZIP compression helps improve transfer efficiency without altering the original file contents.

Zero trust

Zero trust is a security model that requires all users, devices and systems to be authenticated, authorized and continuously validated before gaining or maintaining access to network resources. In file transfer protocol (FTP) servers and managed file transfer (MFT) environments, zero trust limits exposure by restricting access based on identity, context and policy rather than assuming trust based on network location or credentials alone.
